Setting goals
and meeting those goals is a very important part of building any
business. One of the most common mistakes many of us make
when we first get started is we set unrealistic goals.
Setting your ambitions to high and not being able to meet them
causes frustrations and could be a business killer. When
setting goals for your business set small attainable goals
knowing that each time you reach that goal you're one step
closer to the success that you seek.
The 'SMART' acronym is commonly used to help businesses set
small realistic, attainable goals.
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Time Framed
Be specific as to what you want to accomplish. (I'm going
recruit 3 new team members in the next 30 days)
Make sure your goal is measurable. Can you see the results
of your efforts. Example: I want to lose weight. (Not
Measurable) I want to lose 10 pounds. (Measurable)
Is your goal attainable? Do you have the time, and resources to
achieve the goal that you have set for yourself.
Is your goal realistic? Make sure your goal can be reached
or you may become frustrated. Keep in mind of what your
daily duties are and how much time you have promote your
business. Everyone has a life beyond their business and
family responsibilities.
Set time frames for your goals. What would you like to
have accomplished in the next 30 days, 6 months, one year,
etc...
Make sure all of your goals are written down so you don't forget
what you would like to accomplish.
When working towards your goals don't give up. Tell
yourself everyday that you deserve to be successful, and you
deserve to make more money. If you find yourself in a rut,
reach out to your up-line sponsors for advice and support.
If you don't reach your goal don't let it get you down just move
forward. Life throws many things at us that may interfere
with our goals and aspirations. Adapt, overcome and move on!
To Your
Success!
