When you first
get started with doTerra or any business it is very important
that you learn about the business and of course the products.
You can do this by attending corporate training, online
webinars, product information sheets, reading books, personal
use of the products and more. The more knowledge you have about
the business the more confident you will be to answer questions,
conduct presentations and grow your business. So why the title
"Training Vs Implementing"?
Well, when I first got started with doTerra I spent as much time
as possible educating myself about the many uses of essential
oils. I read many books on business building, studied and
took notes on what other MLM professionals were doing online.
While I continued learning all I could I found myself not
implementing what I have learned. Really what I found myself
doing is making up excuses of why I needed more training.
Have you ever made an excuse that you cannot host a presentation
because your not as knowledgeable about Essential Oils as
others? Have you ever been afraid of making or taking a call
because the prospect may ask you a question you cannot answer?
Absorbing myself into learning about the business and products
was helping me avoid my fears; talking to prospects, hosting
meetings and promoting the business.
Don't get caught up in the training trap. This is where you feel
you need more and more education before you can start to build
your business. There are people that have studied the compounds,
the uses, and the effects of essential oils for years and they
are still learning new things everyday. No matter how much
knowledge you have about the products you will always have those
times when someone asks you a question that you cannot answer.
If you cannot answer a certain question just simply reply "I'm
sorry I don't have an answer for that but I will definitely
research that for you and let you know". Learning is about
doing. On the job training is the best training you will ever
get.
In closing I want to say that learning about the products and
the business is very important. The point to this article is
don't let these tasks absorb all of your time that you don't
work on the core essentials of your business; sharing the
products with others, talking to prospects, and building your
business. Training is good and necessary but implementing what
you have learned is the key to success.

Success!
